American Impressionists often found their inspiration in the California coastline. Our subject for this new Paint Along workshop is William Wendt’s gorgeous “Crystal Cove” from 1912. It’s a great lesson in dynamic use of color and creative brushwork. And you’ll finish the day with a beautiful painting.
“Lady Agnew” by John Singer Sargent
Saturday, July 28, at Palace Art in Capitola (11 am to 6 pm)
Many of us saw this painting recently in San Francisco and were amazed by its subtlety and compelling beauty. I will guide you through this special Paint Along workshop, with step by step instructions, as you complete your own version of this famous painting. It’s a great introduction to portraiture, and a must-attend event.
